Connect

POST JSON-RPC 2.0 messages to https://akechi.net/api/storefront/mcp. Responses are JSON; there is no event stream and no session to keep, and no API key or account is needed. Supported protocol versions: 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26, 2024-11-05.

  • Call initialize, then tools/list and tools/call.
  • Requests are rate limited per client address; after HTTP 429, wait for the Retry-After header.
  • Product ids are the SKUs returned by search_products and get_product.

Tools

Four tools cover discovery through checkout.

  • search_products: Search the Akechi catalog by product name, brand, category, dietary words, UPC or SKU, in any word order. Returns up to 20 products with price, pack size, availability and product page URL.
  • get_product: Details for one product: description, ingredients when known, pack size, price, availability, images and page URL. Accepts the product id (SKU), its URL handle, or its akechi.net product URL.
  • quote_shipping: Prices items for a US delivery address: current item prices, USPS Ground Advantage postage and the total before tax. Returns a quote_id that create_checkout needs. Quote again if the cart or address changes.
  • create_checkout: Creates the order on akechi.net and returns a Stripe Checkout URL where the customer pays with Link or a card; sales tax is added there. Nothing is charged by this call, and the order is placed only when payment succeeds. Requires the quote_id from quote_shipping for the same items and address; repeating the same call within 30 minutes returns the same link.

How an order works

The connector uses the same checkout as akechi.net, so prices, stock, postage and tax are checked again before payment.

  • Choose items with search_products or get_product.
  • Call quote_shipping with the items, state and ZIP code, and show the customer the item prices, postage and total before tax.
  • Call create_checkout with the same items and address, the quote_id, and the customer name and email. Nothing is charged by this call.
  • Send the customer to checkout_url. Stripe adds any sales tax and takes payment by Link or card; the order is placed only when payment succeeds, and the confirmation goes to the customer email.

Store policies

Akechi Inc. is the seller of record for every order, including orders started by an AI agent. Orders ship by USPS to all 50 states, DC, US territories and APO/FPO/DPO addresses within 1-3 business days. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unopened items.
