Instead of flattening or cutting them like rolled or steel cut oats, the Scots created a coarse meal by slowly grinding the oats between two large millstones. Scottish oats are more like traditional porridge oats: smooth, creamy and delicious! Many years ago, Bob visited Scotland to learn the art of stone milling at the historic, water-powered Preston Mill.
